Website cost guide · United States
How much does a website cost in the United States?
Prices in dollars, and the three things US businesses should check before they sign: sales tax on the quote, web accessibility under the ADA and the rules for a .us address.
The short answer
From $799 for a small business site
For a small business in the US, a website of up to 5 pages on a premium WordPress theme starts at $799 with us and takes about 15 days. A custom-coded site of up to 8 pages, built in Astro, Next.js or React, starts at $1,999 and takes about 4 weeks. Fixing an existing site starts at $249, and looking after it costs $49 a month. Before you compare quotes, check whether each one adds sales tax for your state.

In the US
Three things to check in the US
Checked against the official pages. Ask about each one before you sign anything.
-
§1
Sales tax: does your state add it?
There is no single US rule for sales tax on website work: each state sets its own. Washington, for example, has charged retail sales tax on custom website development since October 1, 2025, while web hosting and domain registration are left out. Ask every studio whether its price includes any sales tax for your state, and check with your state's department of revenue if you are unsure.

§2
A website people with disabilities can use
The Department of Justice says the ADA applies to the goods and services that businesses open to the public offer on the web. It points to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as helpful guidance. Ask the studio to build the new site to WCAG: text alternatives for images, enough color contrast, and forms that work with a keyboard and a screen reader.

§3
A .us address needs a US connection
To register a .us domain you certify a real connection to the United States: a US citizen or resident, an organization formed under US law, or a foreign business with a bona fide presence in the country. Registrations that do not meet this rule can be put on hold and canceled. We set it up in your name with your details, so the address is yours.

What moves the price
Six things that decide the cost
Storvexa Your quote, line by line
-
01
Pages and content
Five pages cost less than twenty. Writing the copy, finding photos and moving content from an old site all take time, so say up front who supplies them.
-
02
Theme or custom code
A premium WordPress theme is the quickest and cheapest route. A site written in our own code costs more, loads faster and has no page-builder plugins to keep updating.
-
03
What the site has to do
A contact form is simple. Online booking, payments, client logins or a shop each add work, because each has to be built, tested and kept safe.
-
04
Languages and markets
Every extra language means translated pages and its own search setup. Prices in more than one currency add a little more.
-
05
Connections to your tools
Linking the site to a CRM, a booking calendar, an accounting tool or a payment provider is quoted per connection, after we have seen what the tool allows.
-
06
Speed and search work
Basic Google setup comes with every site. Full on-page SEO, a Google Business Profile and analytics come with the custom-coded package.

§1
Domain and hosting
They are paid to the provider every year. We set the site up on your own domain and hosting with free SSL, so the accounts stay in your name.
-
§2
Changes after launch
Ask how long changes stay free. With us it is 6 days for a Basic site and 30 days for a custom-coded one; after that, small changes are part of the care plan.
-
§3
Keeping it safe
Updates, backups and security checks never stop. Our care plan covers them for $49 a month, with one hour of small changes, and you can cancel any time.
-
§4
Words and pictures
If nobody has written the pages yet, someone has to. Agree before the start who writes them and who pays for photos.
