Prices in euro, and the three things German businesses should check before they sign: VAT on the quote, the Impressum and cookie consent.
The short answer
From €739 for a small business site
For a small business in Germany, a website of up to 5 pages on a premium WordPress theme starts at €739 with us and takes about 15 days. A custom-coded site of up to 8 pages, built in Astro, Next.js or React, starts at €1,850 and takes about 4 weeks. Fixing an existing site starts at €229, and looking after it costs €45 a month. Before you compare quotes, check whether each one includes VAT at 19%.

Three things to check in Germany
Checked against the official pages. Ask about each one before you sign anything.
-
§1
VAT at 19%: included or on top?
The standard VAT rate in Germany is 19%. Under the small business rule (Kleinunternehmer), a business whose turnover was no more than €25,000 last year and stays under €100,000 this year does not charge VAT. Some studios and freelancers charge it and some do not, so two quotes for the same site can differ by almost a fifth for that reason alone. Ask every studio whether its price includes VAT before you compare.

§2
An Impressum on every business site
Under §5 of the Digitale-Dienste-Gesetz (DDG), which replaced §5 TMG in 2024, a business website must keep certain details easy to find and always available: the name and address, the legal form and representatives of a company, an email address for quick contact, and the register number and VAT ID where there is one. Ask the studio to build an Impressum page and a privacy policy page, both linked from every page, and check the details yourself before launch.

§3
Cookie consent before analytics and ads
Under §25 TDDDG (formerly the TTDSG), a site may store or read information on a visitor's device only after the visitor has agreed, based on clear and complete information. The only exception is what is strictly necessary for a service the visitor asked for. Analytics and advertising cookies need that yes first. Ask how the new site handles this: a banner with a real choice, and no tracking before the yes.

What moves the price
Six things that decide the cost
Storvexa Your quote, line by line
-
01
Pages and content
Five pages cost less than twenty. Writing the copy, finding photos and moving content from an old site all take time, so say up front who supplies them.
-
02
Theme or custom code
A premium WordPress theme is the quickest and cheapest route. A site written in our own code costs more, loads faster and has no page-builder plugins to keep updating.
-
03
What the site has to do
A contact form is simple. Online booking, payments, client logins or a shop each add work, because each has to be built, tested and kept safe.
-
04
Languages and markets
Every extra language means translated pages and its own search setup. Prices in more than one currency add a little more.
-
05
Connections to your tools
Linking the site to a CRM, a booking calendar, an accounting tool or a payment provider is quoted per connection, after we have seen what the tool allows.
-
06
Speed and search work
Basic Google setup comes with every site. Full on-page SEO, a Google Business Profile and analytics come with the custom-coded package.

§1
Domain and hosting
They are paid to the provider every year. We set the site up on your own domain and hosting with free SSL, so the accounts stay in your name.
-
§2
Changes after launch
Ask how long changes stay free. With us it is 6 days for a Basic site and 30 days for a custom-coded one; after that, small changes are part of the care plan.
-
§3
Keeping it safe
Updates, backups and security checks never stop. Our care plan covers them for €45 a month, with one hour of small changes, and you can cancel any time.
-
§4
Words and pictures
If nobody has written the pages yet, someone has to. Agree before the start who writes them and who pays for photos.
