The short answer

Website prices in Nevada

For a small business in Nevada, a website of up to 5 pages on a premium WordPress theme starts at $799 with us and takes about 15 days. A custom-coded site of up to 8 pages, built in Astro, Next.js or React, starts at $1,999 and takes about 4 weeks. Fixing an existing site starts at $249, and looking after it costs $49 a month. Nevada does not tax software or code delivered electronically, so if a quote adds sales tax, ask which line it applies to.

Official figures · Nevada

Nevada in numbers

Five figures from Nevada public agencies that shape what a website has to do here and which tax lines can appear on a quote.

Clark County sales tax rate
8.375%
The combined rate the Nevada Department of Taxation lists for Clark County, which includes Las Vegas, in effect since January 1, 2020. It matters for a website project only if the quote includes taxable items such as hardware or software on physical media.

Washoe County sales tax rate
8.265%
The rate for Washoe County, which includes Reno, in effect since April 1, 2017, against a state base rate of 6.85%. Douglas, Elko and Lyon counties sit at 7.10%, so the same taxable item costs a different amount depending on the county.

Commerce Tax revenue threshold
$4 million
Businesses whose Nevada gross revenue exceeds $4 million in a fiscal year pay Nevada's Commerce Tax; the 2025-2026 return was due August 14, 2026. If your revenue is near that line, ask your accountant how website spending is recorded.

Las Vegas visitors in 2025
38.5 million
The LVCVA counted 38,545,700 visitors in 2025, 7.5% fewer than in 2024. With fewer visitors to share, hotels, restaurants, shows and tour operators depend more on a site that loads fast on a phone and takes the booking.

Las Vegas convention attendance in 2025
6.0 million
Conventions drew 5,988,200 attendees in 2025, about the same as in 2024 (down 0.1%). For event, display, logistics and catering suppliers, the website is often what an exhibitor checks before asking for a quote.

Nevada rules to check before you buy

These come from the Nevada Department of Taxation. They are not tax advice: they tell you what to ask each studio and what to confirm with the Department or your accountant.

  1. §1

Software and code delivered online are not taxed

The Nevada Department of Taxation says products delivered electronically, such as software, clipart and program code, are not subject to Nevada sales or consumer use tax, while software on a disk shipped to Nevada is taxable as tangible personal property. If a website quote adds Nevada sales tax, ask which line it applies to, and check the Department's Taxability Matrix if you are unsure.

  2. §2

How the invoice is itemized can change the tax

The Department says fabrication labor, meaning labor involved in creating tangible goods sold at retail, is taxable, while repair, reconditioning and installation labor are not taxable when listed separately on the invoice, and consulting not tied to a sale of tangible goods is not subject to sales tax. If your project includes hardware, such as a tablet, kiosk or card reader, ask for the equipment and the setup work as separate lines.

  3. §3

The rate depends on your county

Nevada's base state sales tax rate is 6.85%, and counties add their own share: the Department's rate sheets list 8.375% for Clark County, 8.265% for Washoe County and 7.10% for Douglas, Elko and Lyon counties. Where a quote does include taxable items, check which county's rate was used and confirm it on the Department's current rate sheets.

  4. §4

The Commerce Tax starts above $4 million in Nevada revenue

Nevada's Commerce Tax applies to businesses whose Nevada gross revenue exceeds $4 million in a fiscal year, at rates that vary by industry, with the return due 45 days after the June 30 year end. It is a tax on your revenue, not on a website purchase, so ask your accountant, not a web studio, how website spending is treated in your books.

What moves the price

Six things that decide the cost

Storvexa Your quote, line by line

  1. 01

    Pages and content

Five pages cost less than twenty. Writing the copy, finding photos and moving content from an old site all take time, so say up front who supplies them.

  2. 02

    Theme or custom code

A premium WordPress theme is the quickest and cheapest route. A site written in our own code costs more, loads faster and has no page-builder plugins to keep updating.

  3. 03

What the site has to do

A contact form is simple. Online booking, payments, client logins or a shop each add work, because each has to be built, tested and kept safe.

  4. 04

    Languages and markets

Every extra language means translated pages and its own search setup. Prices in more than one currency add a little more.

  5. 05

    Connections to your tools

Linking the site to a CRM, a booking calendar, an accounting tool or a payment provider is quoted per connection, after we have seen what the tool allows.

  6. 06

    Speed and search work

Basic Google setup comes with every site. Full on-page SEO, a Google Business Profile and analytics come with the custom-coded package.

Questions Nevada businesses ask

Asked before anyone asks for a quote.

Ask us anything else

It depends on what you build. With us, a 5-page WordPress site takes about 15 days and a custom-coded site of up to 8 pages about 4 weeks; the starting prices are shown at the top of this page in US dollars. Ask every studio for a written quote that lists pages, features, payment stages and any sales tax.

The Nevada Department of Taxation says software and program code delivered electronically are not subject to sales or use tax, while software on a disk and other physical goods are taxable. So ask each studio which lines on its quote, if any, carry Nevada sales tax, and check the Department's Taxability Matrix or your accountant if you are unsure.

The Nevada Department of Taxation lists 8.375% for Clark County, which includes Las Vegas, effective since January 1, 2020. Washoe County, which includes Reno, is 8.265%. These rates matter only for taxable items in a project, such as hardware or software on physical media, so check the Department's current rate sheets before relying on them.

It is worth asking for. The Department says installation and repair labor are not taxable when listed separately on the invoice, and consulting not tied to a sale of goods is not taxed, while labor that creates goods sold at retail is. If a project includes a tablet, kiosk or card reader, separate lines show what, if anything, is taxable.

Only if your business is large. Nevada's Commerce Tax applies when Nevada gross revenue exceeds $4 million in a fiscal year, at rates that vary by industry, and the return is due 45 days after the June 30 year end. If your revenue is near that line, ask your accountant how website spending is treated; a web studio should not advise you on it.
