How much does a website cost in France?
Prices in euro, and the three things French businesses should check before they sign: TVA on the quote, the mentions légales and cookie consent.
The short answer
From €739 for a small business site
For a small business in France, a website of up to 5 pages on a premium WordPress theme starts at €739 with us and takes about 15 days. A custom-coded site of up to 8 pages, built in Astro, Next.js or React, starts at €1,850 and takes about 4 weeks. Fixing an existing site starts at €229, and looking after it costs €45 a month. Before you compare quotes, check whether each one is HT, before TVA, or TTC, with TVA at 20% included.

Three things to check in France
Checked against the official pages. Ask about each one before you sign anything.
-
§1
TVA at 20%: HT or TTC?
The standard TVA rate in France is 20%. A quote can be HT (hors taxes, before TVA) or TTC (toutes taxes comprises, TVA included), and some small businesses use the franchise en base de TVA: they charge no TVA, and their invoices say "TVA non applicable - article 293 B du CGI". So two quotes for the same site can differ by 20% for that reason alone. Ask every studio whether its price is HT or TTC before you compare.

§2
The mentions légales on your site
A business website in France has to show who runs it: the company name, or the owner's name for a sole trader, an address, an email and a phone number, the RCS or RNE number, the TVA number where it applies, and the name, address and phone number of the host. A site that publishes content also names its publication director. Check that the new site has a page for these before it goes live.

§3
Cookie consent before analytics and ads
Under the CNIL's rules, a site must get consent before it sets cookies that are not exempt, such as advertising cookies, and consent has to be a clear, positive action. Refusing must be as simple as accepting. Ask how the new site handles this: a banner where Refuse is as easy as Accept, and no tracking before the yes.

What moves the price
Six things that decide the cost
Storvexa Your quote, line by line
-
01
Pages and content
Five pages cost less than twenty. Writing the copy, finding photos and moving content from an old site all take time, so say up front who supplies them.
-
02
Theme or custom code
A premium WordPress theme is the quickest and cheapest route. A site written in our own code costs more, loads faster and has no page-builder plugins to keep updating.
-
03
What the site has to do
A contact form is simple. Online booking, payments, client logins or a shop each add work, because each has to be built, tested and kept safe.
-
04
Languages and markets
Every extra language means translated pages and its own search setup. Prices in more than one currency add a little more.
-
05
Connections to your tools
Linking the site to a CRM, a booking calendar, an accounting tool or a payment provider is quoted per connection, after we have seen what the tool allows.
-
06
Speed and search work
Basic Google setup comes with every site. Full on-page SEO, a Google Business Profile and analytics come with the custom-coded package.

Domain and hosting
They are paid to the provider every year. We set the site up on your own domain and hosting with free SSL, so the accounts stay in your name.
-
§2
Changes after launch
Ask how long changes stay free. With us it is 6 days for a Basic site and 30 days for a custom-coded one; after that, small changes are part of the care plan.
-
§3
Keeping it safe
Updates, backups and security checks never stop. Our care plan covers them for €45 a month, with one hour of small changes, and you can cancel any time.
-
§4
Words and pictures
If nobody has written the pages yet, someone has to. Agree before the start who writes them and who pays for photos.
