Web design for solicitors and law firms

A law firm website that explains each practice area in plain English, publishes the prices and complaints information the SRA requires, and turns visitors into well-qualified enquiries.

The short answer

Storvexa builds websites for solicitors and law firms: a WordPress site from $799 in 15 days, or a custom-coded site from $1,999 in about 4 weeks. Each one has a page per practice area, solicitor profiles, enquiry forms by type of matter, and the SRA Transparency Rules pages built in from the start: prices for the services the rules cover, your complaints procedure, and the SRA number and digital badge.

Every price is agreed in writing before work starts. Your domain and hosting are bought in your name, so they are yours from day one.

What the site has to do

What a law firm website has to do

People rarely look for a solicitor for fun. They are buying a house, dealing with a death, facing a dismissal or a court date. They want to know quickly that you handle their kind of matter, what it will cost and who will do the work.

  1. 01

    A page per practice area

Residential conveyancing, wills and probate, family, employment, immigration, commercial: each with who it is for, how the matter runs, how long it takes and what it costs. These are the pages people find in search.

  2. 02

    Prices that follow the rules

For the services the Transparency Rules cover, price information is not optional. We give each one a clear, prominent price section that is easy to keep up to date.

  3. 03

People, not just a firm name

Solicitor profiles with photo, experience, qualifications and the work they supervise. The rules expect this information next to your prices, and clients choose people.

  1. 04

Enquiry forms by type of matter

A conveyancing quote needs the price of the property; an employment enquiry needs dates. Short forms per matter bring enquiries you can act on, routed to the right team.

  2. 05

    Trust you can check

The SRA digital badge, your SRA number, accreditations you hold, and reviews linked to where they were written.

  3. 06

    Clear, calm and accessible

Plain English, readable type, good contrast and forms that work with a keyboard and a screen reader. Clients come to a law firm stressed; the site should not add to it.

What your site should show

What the SRA Transparency Rules ask of your website

Checked against the SRA Transparency Rules. If your firm is authorised by the SRA, you'll want each of these in place before launch, and we build them in from the first draft.

  1. §1

Prices for the services the rules cover

If your firm advertises any of these services, you must publish costs information for them: residential conveyancing (sales, purchases, mortgages and re-mortgages), probate (collecting and distributing an estate after a death), immigration applications (not asylum) and First-tier Tribunal appeals against Home Office visa or immigration decisions, summary-only road traffic offences dealt with at a single hearing, employment tribunal claims for unfair or wrongful dismissal (for employees and for employers defending them), debt recovery up to £100,000, and licensing applications for business premises.

  2. §2

    What that price information includes

The total cost or, where that is not practicable, an average or range; the basis of your charges; the experience and qualifications of the people doing and supervising the work; likely disbursements; VAT; what is included, the key stages and their likely timescales; and what is not included. It must be clear, accessible and in a prominent place on the site.

  3. §3

    Complaints

Publish your complaints procedure, including how and when a complaint can be made to the Legal Ombudsman and to the SRA.

  4. §4

    SRA number and digital badge

Display your SRA number and the SRA's digital badge in a prominent place on the website. Your letterhead and emails also need the SRA number and the words "authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority", and we put the same line in the site footer.

This is a builder's checklist, not legal or regulatory advice. Guidance changes, so check your regulator's current pages; we build the pages it asks for and make them easy for you to keep up to date.

What we build

The right build for a firm

Most firms do best with WordPress, because price pages and team profiles change and the firm should be able to change them without waiting for anyone.

  • WordPress Our default

A Basic Website: up to five pages on a premium WordPress theme, with enquiry forms, click-to-call and basic Google SEO. Enough for a small firm with two or three practice areas and its transparency pages.

  • Custom-coded in Astro, Next.js or React When speed and a unique design matter

A Business Website: up to eight custom-coded pages that load in about a second, with enquiry forms, full on-page SEO and your Google Business Profile set up. For firms competing on conveyancing, probate or employment searches.

  • A web app When the site runs part of the business

An online conveyancing quote calculator, a client portal for documents and updates, or intake that routes each enquiry to the right team. Scoped on a free call, built with a demo every week.

The closest work we have live

We have not built a website for a law firm yet, and we will not claim otherwise. Our closest live work is a professional office that handles tax returns, notarisation and immigration form assistance, with clients who need to trust it before they call.

Cali Taxes & Notary: a clear list of exactly which services the office offers, call buttons all the way down the page, and "Request a time" and "Request a callback" forms that email the office. Hand-coded in Astro, so every page loads fast on a phone.

Questions law firms ask

Ask us anything else

Our Basic Website (WordPress, up to five pages) and Business Website (custom-coded, up to eight pages) have fixed starting prices, shown on this page in your currency. A firm with many practice areas, or a quote calculator, gets a written quote after a free call. The price we agree in writing is the price you pay.

Not yet. Our closest live work is a tax, notary and immigration-forms office built for clients who need to trust it before they call. The SRA points on this page were checked against the SRA Transparency Rules themselves.

We build in every item the rules ask of a website: price information for the services they cover, your complaints procedure with the Legal Ombudsman and SRA routes, and your SRA number and digital badge in a prominent place. The content and prices are yours to confirm, and we make them easy to update.

If your firm advertises them: residential conveyancing, probate (collecting and distributing an estate after a death), immigration applications (not asylum) and First-tier Tribunal immigration appeals, summary-only road traffic offences dealt with at a single hearing, employment tribunal claims for unfair or wrongful dismissal, debt recovery up to £100,000, and licensing applications for business premises.

Yes. Each practice area gets its own short enquiry form, and each form can email a different team, so a conveyancing quote never waits in the family team's inbox.

A Basic Website is delivered in 15 days and a Business Website in about four weeks. A larger firm site is timed in the written quote, so you know the launch date before you pay anything.

Yes. The domain and hosting are in your firm's name. After the final payment you have full admin access (WordPress) or the full source code on your own Git account (custom-coded).
